Planning is the Beginning of Adventure

When we think about going on a trip, whether it’s for a year or for a week, we tend to think it starts the day we leave.

But what I have realized this past year, is that the trip starts when you start planning it.

It’s been an educational and exciting process to plan where we are going to stay, what we are going to do, and the routes we are going to drive.

We have kept much of it flexible, but we know pretty much where we will be over the next six months.

The anticipation is awesome.

The excitement around our house is palpable.  We are counting down each day.

In this way, the trip has already begun.  The dreaming and imagining and knowing and wondering is already real and here.

For all of you who have emailed me saying you wish you could come with us, or  dream of creating a similar trip of your own, my suggestion is to start planning it.

It might be five years off, but the minute you start planning, the adventure begins.

So begin.
