San Bernardino no no no no

You know how you imagine things in your mind?

And then it’s not like that at all?

So do I.

We left the paradise of Mammoth Lakes to go to LA.  We knew we didn’t want to drive for more than six hours, so we scheduled a stop in San Bernardino for two nights.

The drive was many hours of the same.

The hotel was stale and smelly.

And there was nothing but chain restaurants as far as the eye could see.

Which wasn’t very far-because of the smog.

We thought it would be cool to stay a third night at a novel hotel called the Wigwam.  Sleep in a TePee!

Thank goodness we drove by first.  The internet did this hotel too much justice. We canceled as soon as we saw it.

Bummer.  (right on the road, chain link fences, view of Uhaul dealer)

The only redeeming thing about our stay in San Bernardino was seeing the 66ers play on the 4th.  The game was fun, and then after they let us onto the field to lay out our blankets and watch the fireworks.  It was an amazing display to awesome music.  So fun!

The rest of our stay was disappointing.

Couldn’t wait to leave and get back on the road.
